Westringia 'WES08' PVR

GREEN BOX™ Westringia 'WES08' PVR

  • Incredibly bright mauve coloured flowers
  • Requires less pruning compared to other Westringia varieties
  • Tolerates heavy frost

Description: Green Box™ Westringia is a great alternative to weaker box plants. Requires slightly more pruning, but will have faster establishment and far better drought tolerance. It has a dense growth habit with bright mauve flowers throughout spring/summer.

This plant handles wet feet better than most Westringias, and will work in both the North and South Island.

Size: 40–45cm high x 30–45cm wide pruned; 60–85cm high x 60–85cm wined unpruned.

Uses: Hedges, borders, containers and mass plantings.

Position: Full sun to light shade. Suits most soil types. Tolerates drought and frost.

Care: Water as required for 8-13 weeks until established. Plant in a well mulched garden (chunky mulch is recommended). If required use slow release fertiliser in spring. Prune to desired shape as required (1–3 times a year after flowering depending on desired outcome; more frequent pruning will provide a tidier shape).
